Job Summary:

Medical Billing

Communicating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to categorize the services a patient has received

Submitting claims to insurance companies

Research compliance with federal regulations according to diagnosis, operation, and procedure using the current version ICD, CPT, and DRG classification systems. Applying CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 CM standardized codes to patient records to accurately reflect the services received.

Following up with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance providers to make sure claims are paid for

Entering data through Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software used in hospitals and physicians’ offices

Managing account payments and invoices

Examining operative reports used during surgery to apply procedure codes

Investigating rejected or denied claims

Performing medical chart audits when a claim is denied

Knowledge of lab billing

Knowledge of lab coding

Ensuring that physicians and patients receive reimbursements from insurers

Remaining up-to-date with the latest revisions to coding standards and federal regulations

knowledge of Toxicology, PGX/molecular, blood, allergy, cancer, wellness panel, etc.

Carefully details review of documents such as laboratory findings, radiology reports, various scan reports, discharge summary, history and physical, consultations, orders, progress notes and other ancillary services treatment records needed to ensure all pertinent diagnoses and procedures are recorded.

Maintain strictest confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Communicates to Coding Quality/Professional Manager any new diagnoses, procedures, technologies, etc. documented within patient records to ensure that appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes are selected and incorporated into hospital and professional coding guidelines.

Verifying the accuracy of standard healthcare codes used by medical coders to classify services and products

Examining patient charts and histories to ensure coding accurately reflects a patient’s medical care

Clinical and Administrative Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

PharmX-Pure Age Management is a growing company. One clinic is currently located in Boynton Beach, FL, soon there will be more opening in Southeast Florida by next year. The Administrative Medical Assistant is a vital role in the smooth running of the clinic; from the front to the back. In addition to performing a customer service role, admin work, medical assistants provide support and assistance to medical staff in caring for our clients, but their focusing both on clerical tasks and clinical duties.

Job Responsibilities:

As the role of an administrative medical assistant is to perform clerical duties, a high level of competency in computer use, such as word processing and spreadsheet skills, is vital. You will also need to be competent in dealing with medical insurances to confirm clients’ medical insurances and sufficient knowledge and competency of medical billing and coding.

A typical working day will be made up of a mix of clerical duties and speaking with clients. Duties include:
  • Entering new client information and handling and maintaining current clients records
  • Phoning clients to schedule appointments

    Who am I reporting to?

    What are the on-call responsibilities for this position?
    The recruiters in the branch are on-call for staffing purposes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Clinicians rotate the on-call responsibility, which usually is for clinical questions only. 

    Is the salary negotiable?
    Yes, the salary is negotiable, taking into account prerequisite experience. 

    How much time is spent in and out of the office? 
    For a Clinical Supervisor, it is a 50/50 split between working inside and outside of the office. For a Director of Clinical Services, it is typically 70 percent inside the office and 30 percent outside of the office. 

    What is the caseload? 
    This depends strictly on the size of the staff in the office. 

    What is the ratio of adult clients to pediatric clients? 

    At least 60 percent of clients are pediatric clients, but there are always exceptions. This ratio varies by office location.
