Job Summary:

Medical Billing

Medical Coding

Entering data with proprietary billing software

Communicating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to categorize the services a patient has received

Submitting claims to insurance companies

Research compliance with federal regulations according to diagnosis, operation, and procedure using the current version ICD, CPT, and DRG classification systems. Applying CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 CM standardized codes to patient records to accurately reflect the services received.

Following up with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance providers to make sure claims are paid for

Entering data through Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software used in hospitals and physicians’ offices

Managing account payments and invoices

Examining operative reports used during surgery to apply procedure codes

Investigating rejected or denied claims

Performing medical chart audits when a claim is denied

Knowledge of lab billing

Ensuring that physicians and patients receive reimbursements from insurers

Remaining up-to-date with the latest revisions to coding standards and federal regulations

Carefully details review of documents such as laboratory findings, radiology reports, various scan reports, discharge summary, history and physical, consultations, orders, progress notes and other ancillary services treatment records needed to ensure all pertinent diagnoses and procedures are recorded.

Maintain strictest confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Communicates to Coding Quality/Professional Manager any new diagnoses, procedures, technologies, etc. documented within patient records to ensure that appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes are selected and incorporated into hospital and professional coding guidelines.

Verifying the accuracy of standard healthcare codes used by medical coders to classify services and products

Examining patient charts and histories to ensure coding accurately reflects a patient’s medical care

Phlebotomy Director

Job Summary: Oversee multiple functions required to insure the successful delivery of the services provided by PharmX Branch Operations. This function includes and is not limited to; phlebotomy services including Mobile Phlebotomy, Hospitals and Facility Phlebotomy, In-Patient Home Phlebotomy, In Office Phlebotomy and oversee PharmX Phlebotomy Service. Responsible for the activities, phlebotomist schedules, training of all personnel, all daily operations of PharmX Phlebotomy Services. Ensure maintenance of a safe and professional environment for all Phlebotomist.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily operations of all assigned facilities, in-patient home, mobile, and in-office phlebotomy.
  • May have responsibility for Logistics or Client Service functions.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all clients and their staff.
  • Schedule and Coordinate personnel schedules
  • Ensure all Phlebotomist are well informed of all their assignments and have all the proper kits (if needed) and tools for all their assigned jobs.
  • Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Phlebotomy Services in accordance with PharmX Universal Agency guidelines.
  • Where applicable, ensures all Federal, State & local licensure requirements are met, working with the QA and Medical Director's offices.
  • Ensures all Laboratories testing QA/QC documentation is complete and reviewed as required.
  • Perform site visits at all assigned Mobile Phlebotomy, In-Patient Homes Phlebotomy, In-Office Phlebotomy, Hospitals and Facility Phlebotomy sites and document findings. Perform QA audits. Site visits scheduled appropriately to provide adequate supervision.
  • Ensure all personnel meet requirements for driving on company business.
  • Hold regularly scheduled meetings for dissemination of all information to personnel and staff.
  • Track/enter time/attendance of personnel.
  • Prepare month-end reports.
  • Investigates/resolves and responds to customer complaints appropriately and effectively.
  • Prepares schedules with minimal overtime for all personnel. Maintains adequate coverage for all clients.
  • Oversees inventory process for supervised locations.
  • Responsible to ensure PharmX improvement and/or standardization initiatives are implemented.
  • Participate in the interview, selection and hiring of new personnel.
  • Responsible for training, coaching, supervision and development of Phlebotomy Services and its personnel.
  • Monitor on-going performance of personnel, provide corrective action and counseling as required. Perform mid-year and annual performance appraisals.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget for areas of responsibility. Maintain budget control throughout the year in areas of responsibility.
  • Supervisor participates to assure fiscal responsibilities of the department are met. This includes implementation of cost containment programs, management of overtime, participation in standardization initiatives and needs assessment for capital expenditures.
  • Participate on process improvement teams, or other initiatives to meet management objectives.
  • Organize and lead projects both within the work group and with cross-functional groups. May be required to give presentations and speak in groups.

Mobile Phlebotomist

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collects blood using proper protocol and technique.

Who am I reporting to? 
Depending on the position, you will either report to the Regional Director of Clinical Services or the Director of Clinical Services. 

What are the on-call responsibilities for this position?
The recruiters in the branch are on-call for staffing purposes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Clinicians rotate the on-call responsibility, which usually is for clinical questions only. 

Is the salary negotiable?
Yes, the salary is negotiable, taking into account prerequisite experience. 

How much time is spent in and out of the office? 
For a Clinical Supervisor, it is a 50/50 split between working inside and outside of the office. For a Director of Clinical Services, it is typically 70 percent inside the office and 30 percent outside of the office. 

What is the caseload? 
This depends strictly on the size of the staff in the office. 

What is the ratio of adult clients to pediatric clients? 

At least 60 percent of clients are pediatric clients, but there are always exceptions. This ratio varies by office location.
